A Dream on the Runway: Our First Fashion Show at Abu Dhabi Modest Fashion Week 2025
We’re still riding the high of one of the most unforgettable weeks in our Lanuuk journey—our very first fashion show experience at Abu Dhabi Modest Fashion Week 2025. Honestly, it’s hard to put into words what this meant to us as a brand, but we’ll try our best to share the magic, the nerves, the glamour, and the heart of it all.
Arrival in Abu Dhabi: A Dream Setting
From the moment we landed on Saadiyat Island on Sunday 13th April, we knew we were about to step into something truly special. The show was set against the breathtaking backdrop of the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort—a setting so serene and stunning, it felt like the perfect canvas for a celebration of modest fashion.
Behind the Scenes: A First Glimpse into the World of Runway
Our first day was all about fittings and final touches. The backstage area was unlike anything we’d experienced before—buzzing with energy, filled with designers from all over the world, endless racks of clothing, models, stylists, and the hustle of a hundred moving parts all working in sync. It was our first real glimpse into the scale of this event and the sheer orchestration it takes to pull it all off.
We spent the afternoon fitting our SS25 pieces on the models—making sure every detail was just right. We also set up our booth, a little space we wanted to feel like us—thoughtful, elegant, and true to Lanuuk.
The Welcome: Community & Connection
That evening, we were invited to a beautiful beachside Welcome Gala Dinner. It was here we met the brilliant minds behind Modest Fashion Week—Think Fashion—and the gracious Ozlem Sahin, who welcomed us like old friends. We mingled with fellow designers from around the world, shared stories, nerves, and laughter, and were deeply touched by the people who approached us with heartfelt words of support. Some had followed our journey for years, others had just discovered us—but every conversation left an impression.
What stood out most that night was the warmth, generosity, and shared sense of purpose within the modest fashion community. It was clear we were about to take part in something truly meaningful, something bigger than ourselves.
The Power of Modesty & Creative Expression
Monday 14th was the official start of Modest Fashion Week—and what a start it was. We woke up to a feature in Vogue Arabia—‘7 Brands to See at Abu Dhabi Modest Fashion Week’—with Lanuuk listed among them. What a surreal and humbling moment!
The day unfolded with an explosion of beauty, culture, and creativity. We wandered through booths, met new and familiar faces, and watched some truly awe-inspiring runway shows. Every show had its own voice and story. Some of our favourites were Les Atelier, Afrik Abaya, and Soleil—each showcasing modesty in such bold, stunning, and individual ways.
There’s nothing quite like watching a fashion show for the first time—especially knowing yours is just hours away. The anticipation was real. The goosebumps? Very real.

The Lanuuk Runway: ECHO – A Statement on Longevity & Sustainability
Tuesday 15th April. Show day. The nerves were high, the energy even higher.
The lead-up to the event was months in the making. With our Spring/Summer 2025 collection previewing at the show, this was a significant opportunity to present our latest pieces within a concept that speaks to the very core of our brand.
At Lanuuk, we’ve always designed with purpose. Our pieces are made to last, to layer across seasons, to mix the old with the new. The show’s theme—ECHO: A Statement on Longevity & Sustainability—was our way of reaffirming that style and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. Our pieces are designed to transcend seasons, allowing women to seamlessly bridge their wardrobe across collections.
The show was a blur of last-minute prep, model changes, adjustments, and the chaos of backstage right before curtain call. And then, just like that—it happened. The models stepped out. Our pieces came to life. And ECHO came to life as each look reinforced our belief that modest fashion can be both contemporary and enduring.
Watching the highlights afterward was overwhelming. All the hours, the prep, the fittings, the fittings again—it all paid off. We were met with love, encouragement, and a wave of support from attendees, media, and old friends. We couldn’t be more grateful.

Community, Conversations & Creativity
The final day, Wednesday 16th, began with a beautiful breakfast at Jumeirah Saadiyat Island—a space for reflection and connection. Designers, creatives, and thinkers gathered together in one room, exchanging stories and ideas that sparked real, meaningful conversations.
Throughout the day, talk shows brought designers, influencers, media, buyers and trailblazers together on one stage to talk about the future of fashion, culture, and modesty. It was inspiring to hear the stories behind the brands and see how deeply personal and powerful modest fashion is for so many of us.

The Grand Finale
Modest Fashion Week came to a close with a magical beach celebration at Saadiyat Beach Club, hosted by Think Fashion. It was the perfect conclusion to a remarkable week—celebrating fashion, culture, and the collective creativity of a community that continues to grow with purpose.
Participating in Abu Dhabi Modest Fashion Week was a milestone for Lanuuk. It was an honour to be surrounded by such inspiring individuals and to share our work on a stage that celebrates not only style, but substance. We remain committed to designing with intention, creating pieces that reflect the values of longevity, versatility, and grace.
Events like this affirm what we’ve always believed: modest fashion is not a passing trend. It is a meaningful, personal expression embraced by women across the world—and we’re proud to be a part of that story.
To everyone who shared this journey with us, supported us, or simply cheered us on from afar—thank you. Abu Dhabi Modest Fashion Week 2025 will forever have a piece of our hearts - Ayesha & Leya ♡
